Why should I clean my rug?

When purchasing a handmade rug many tend to forget that it is an investment. In order for the rug to increase in value the rug needs to be cleaned so that it may be protected to maintain its longevity.

How often should I have my rug cleaned?

It really depends on the number of people in your household, pets, lifestyle and location. However, every 6 months to a year is generally satisfactory. The more foot traffic the more frequent the rug will need to be cleaned.

How do I know when my rug needs cleaning?

After time, rugs can accumulate all types of debris that our feet and shoes pick up. One way is to see if the colors have started to fade. Another way is to lift a corner of the rug up and give it a tap to see if dust particles or any form of debris comes out.

How long does it take to clean my rug?

It generally takes about a week from the initial pick up to have your rug cleaned and returned to you.

Do you do in house cleaning?

We do not do in house cleaning. We will pick up the rug and bring it to our cleaning plant. At the cleaning plant we will inspect the rug and see what services it requires and then info rm you to see what actions you would like us to take. Our cleaning plant is located at

93 Division Place, Brooklyn New York

and contains state of the art cleaning machinery to ensure customer satisfaction.

What type of rugs do you clean?

Our services are limited to area rugs only. From handmade Orientals, Aubussons, Needlepoint’s, Savonneries, Tapestries, machine made and mansion size rugs. We also do various other services to rugs in order to maximize longevity and appreciation value of your heirloom rugs.

Megerian offers to its customer, FREE pick up and delivery in the Tri State area. We also do out of state cleaning; speak to a sales representative regarding shipping method and pricing.
